Vertigo & BPPV Care in Homer, Alaska
Evaluation of positional vertigo and Epley maneuver treatment when appropriate.
Understanding your symptoms
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is an inner-ear condition that can cause brief spinning episodes with changes in head position. It can occur when tiny calcium crystals move into an inner-ear canal where they do not belong.
Your evaluation
We review the pattern of dizziness, health history, and associated symptoms. Appropriate positional testing helps identify whether the findings fit BPPV and which canal may be involved. We assess neck mobility and positioning limitations before treatment.
Care suited to your findings
For appropriate posterior-canal BPPV, ChiroTherm offers the Epley maneuver: a guided sequence of head and body positions intended to move the crystals out of the affected canal. Other dizziness patterns or BPPV types may need different treatment or referral.
A question patients ask
Does the Epley maneuver treat every kind of dizziness?
No. Not all dizziness is BPPV, and not all BPPV responds to the same maneuver. Persistent or atypical symptoms require further assessment.
