Sciatica Care in Homer, Alaska
Evaluation for pain, tingling, or numbness that travels into the leg.
Understanding your symptoms
Sciatica describes symptoms related to irritation of nerve roots that contribute to the sciatic nerve. It often affects the buttock and one leg. Not every type of leg pain is sciatica, so identifying the pattern matters.
Your evaluation
We review where the symptoms travel and check movement, strength, sensation, and other relevant neurological findings. We assess whether conservative care is suitable and whether imaging or referral should be considered.
Care suited to your findings
When appropriate, care may include selected chiropractic techniques, exercise progression, and guidance on activity and positions. We monitor both pain and neurological symptoms. Worsening weakness requires prompt medical assessment.

A question patients ask
Is sciatica the same as ordinary back pain?
No. Sciatica involves a pattern of nerve-related leg symptoms. Back pain without leg symptoms may have a different cause and care plan.
