Understanding the treatment

A focused approach to persistent pain.

Shockwave therapy applies acoustic pulses through the skin using a handheld applicator. It is a non-surgical option used for selected tendon and soft tissue complaints.

Your examination comes first. We review your symptoms, relevant health history, and movement to decide whether this treatment is suitable. We explain expected benefits, limitations, and alternatives before beginning. Evidence and results vary by condition.

Selected soft tissue concerns

Discuss persistent symptoms with our team. The source of your pain determines whether shockwave therapy is an appropriate option.

Part of your care plan

Care may also involve exercise, movement guidance, or other treatments selected according to your findings and goals.

Your progress matters

We review your symptoms and function as care proceeds. Additional treatment is recommended only when clinically indicated.

01 · EVALUATE

Start with your concerns

Tell us where it hurts, how long it has been happening, and what you want to get back to doing.

Target the selected area

The applicator is placed against the treatment area. You may feel tapping or discomfort; tell your clinician how it feels throughout the session.

ChiroTherm reassesses after the fourth visit. The ongoing plan depends on your condition and response to care.

Common questions

Shockwave therapy FAQs

Is shockwave therapy an electrical shock?

No. The pulses are mechanical sound waves rather than an electrical shock.

Will it hurt?

Treatment can be uncomfortable, and temporary soreness or bruising can occur. We discuss this before treatment and check your comfort during the session.

How many visits will I need?

Your plan is individualized. We reassess after the fourth visit and discuss further treatment only if it is clinically indicated.

Is it right for everyone?

No. We review your history, medications, and examination findings before recommending treatment. Tell us about relevant medical conditions and previous treatment to the area.
